I’m Being Stood Up
I was supposed to have a date tonight with someone who is out of state. Whenever he comes here to spend time with me, he brings his laptop as well. I can tell when he leaves because he signs out of a site to which we both belong, as well as logging off msn and yahoo messengers.
Tonight the plan was for him to leave his home between 5-7 p.m. Here it is 7:47 our time and he is still logged on, so my assumption is that he has not yet left. Well, that and the fact that he told me he’d call when he left, yet no call has been forthcoming.
Why do I bother canceling plans? I was supposed to go to Seeley, Montana tomorrow but changed that plan due to this date. Why do I bother making plans for my kids? My youngest and my oldest are spending time with grandparents/friends; my girls are occupied as well. Why bother??
I guess that no matter what our situation, we hold out hope that there is a decent man out there who shares our philosophies on life, love, religion, children and all that. Being stood up does not conform to my philosophies about anything.
Sometimes I seek. Sometimes I give up. Today is an ‘I give up’ day.
